{"id":942,"date":"2009-04-30T11:48:40","date_gmt":"2009-04-30T15:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jeffclarke.us\/blog\/?p=942"},"modified":"2009-04-30T11:49:04","modified_gmt":"2009-04-30T15:49:04","slug":"have-a-ball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jeffclarke.us\/blog\/2009\/04\/have-a-ball\/","title":{"rendered":"Have a Ball"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Check out this cute (and addictive) little game from <a href=\"http:\/\/jtnimoy.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Nimoy<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/balldroppings.com\/js\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-943\" title=\"balldrop\" src=\"http:\/\/jeffclarke.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/balldrop.jpg\" alt=\"balldrop\" width=\"460\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jeffclarke.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/balldrop.jpg 460w, http:\/\/jeffclarke.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/balldrop-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s most impressive, IMHO, is that it&#8217;s written entirely in JavaScript using the canvas object (sorry IE fans).<\/p>\n<p>And in that vein, it serves as a good test of each of the current browsers&#8217; rendering engines.<\/p>\n<p>While FF 3.01 performance is spotty, Safari&#8217;s current release really tears it up (most likely because canvas is a native Apple element).\u00a0 I imagine since the app was written to show off Chrome&#8217;s JS engine, that Chrome also performs beautifully.<\/p>\n<p>Alright, enough nerdiness.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a game.
